Rockley Court
Rockley Court in Shepherds Bush, London, is a five storey building comprising 50 apartments. The central plantroom, which provides
communal heating and hot water to all the apartments, was recently upgraded using Geminox-UK equipment.
The existing system comprised two large cast iron boilers and two steel calorifiers. The hot water ran continuously and the heating
was turned on and off by manually opening and closing sets of valves at the beginning and end of the heating season.
Geminox-UK equipment was chosen to replace the old, inefficient and outdated equipment, because of its capabilities and high efficiency.
The new equipment consisted of:
- 3 THR10-100CS boilers connected together providing 300Kw total output
- 6 EBS300 litre fast recovery hot water tanks
The tanks store 1800 litres of hot water which is re-heated in only 18 minutes from 10° - 60°C and provides 12,000 litres of hot water in one hour.
The heating is now controlled via the built in boiler weather compensated controls. Using our dedicated, revolutionary approved polypropylene
Cascade Flue System, the flues from each boiler connect to a common header via the unique non return valves. The existing chimney was re-lined
by feeding lengths of PPs down from above thus avoiding any works to the external building.
The compact size of the equipment allowed 50% of the old plant to be left in place whilst the new was installed, insuring continuity of
services for the residents.
