EVINOX WINS INDUSTRIAL & COMMERCIAL HEATING PRODUCT OF THE YEAR 2008
Evinox were awarded best Industrial and Commercial Product of the Year for its Thermal Store Energy Bank at the prestigious H&V News Awards for Excellence.
The award was presented to David Whitfield, Managing Director of Evinox, at the Awards Ceremony held on Thursday 1st May at the Grosvenor House Hotel on
London’s Park Lane. The evening was hosted by BAFTA award-winning comic, Rob Brydon, and was attended by a record number of more than 1100 guests from
across the industry.
The Thermal Store Energy Bank, which was launched by Evinox in the UK in July 2007, emerged victorious in the hotly contested Industrial & Commercial
Heating Product of the Year category, having beaten off stiff competition in the final from big names within the industry Vaillant and Hoval.
The Thermal Store Energy Bank is a unique, fully patented product, its function being to store a variety of alternative heat energy, particularly solar
energy. It is highly efficient, both in terms of energy and cost.
The judges hailed the Thermal Store Energy Bank as “an important and highly versatile product” as it allows users to take advantage of a variety of
renewable energy sources, and “future proof” because it can be adapted as necessary to take advantage of other renewable energy sources. Due to its unique
technology, there are no directly comparable products available on the UK market.
Adam Northcroft, publisher of H&V News, commented: “In an era of rising fuel costs, new environmentally-led regulation and concerns we all share about the
future of our planet, it’s fantastic and absolutely necessary to see the H&V sector rising to the challenge. We can make a difference in cutting carbon
emissions and we are making a difference. The H&V News Awards winners celebrate excellence not just in this vitally important arena but across all areas of
our industry.”
The H&V News Awards is organised by the industry magazine, H&V News and represents the benchmark scheme for recognising excellence in heating, ventilating
and air-conditioning. It is judged by a panel of 14 independent experts headed by Peter Mayo, former head of Engineering at The John Lewis Partnership.

ZEM Merite Range
To compliment the success of the Geminox THI range Geminox has launched the ZEM Mérite range of boilers. The ZEM Mérite will be
using the tried and tested build quality of the THI but system options and controls have been simplified.
Our philosophy, with all models since 1995, is to have weather compensation built in as standard and the new ZEM Mérite range
will also follow this principle, providing weather compensation and direct full linear burner modulation as standard.
The ZEM Mérite range will consist of only 4 models aimed at the apartment sector and low energy homes. The unique 2-17kW system
boiler, which fires as low as 2kW on low burner modulation, is ideal for new apartments providing the economy and top end power of
17kW for efficient hot water performance. There is also a 5-25 kW system boiler, 5-25 SEP combination boiler providing 13.1 L/min
flow rate and the 5-25 B120 DUO, which has an in-built 120 litre hot water tank and provides 21 L/min and recovery time from 10° to
60°C in only 12 minutes and is the ideal packaged solution for the new home or apartment.
The ZEM Mérite range will be more economical but will still follow the same engineering standards, ensuring that for the
specifier we can guarantee a great value, highly engineered appliance.
Like our THI range all of the boilers will be suitable for our unique high-rise cascade flue installations, which enables boilers
in high-rise to share a common 110mm flue up to 11 storeys providing a perfect solution for the apartment sector.
The ZEM is still a top end product and we will not be competing on prices with the cheaper end of our market but will concentrate
on those clients who want to supply and install top end products for a reasonable price.
